National Postdoctoral Association

The NPA's Postdoc Leadership Mentoring Project provided a structured mentoring experience for the leaders of newly established or revitalized postdoc offices and associations. During the year-long project, these leaders were paired with experienced leaders with the goal of providing one-on-one mentorship. Participants met their mentor/mentee for the first time at the 2007 NPA Annual Meeting in Berkeley, California, where their attendance was supported by a travel grant award sponsored by the NPA, the Sloan Foundation (U.S.), and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund (Canada).  In addition, the project convened monthly group teleconferences for problem solving and best practice sharing as well as on-site NPA Team Visits to project participants.
